Crisis

Camino is a leader in addressing highly contentious social issues, with our work ranging from providing assistance to groups who need help mitigating the impact of unfair secret videotaping, to lifting up new voices working to solve some of the most pressing social problems. Camino’s unique approach to communications strategy and risk prevention is rooted in our strong expertise in contested social issues. The landscape for media management for contested social issues in 2017 has become deeply complex, necessitating expanded communications strategies.

Turning crisis into opportunity.

Tracking, managing and assessing those communicating on the other side of issues is key when making strategic communications decisions. While always important, it is particularly critical in the event of mischaracterizations or assaults on an organization's reputation in the media and in public discourse. Camino helps organizations prepare for these critical events and serves as a partner through contentious media cycles. We've provided accurate, rapid background information to editors that put stories in context, a critical element in today's 24-hour news cycles. We alert clients to potential negative media narratives and provide strategic recommendations to curb possible negative influence. Some of our most important work has been the media coverage that does not get seen, as a result of our partnerships with organizations and media professionals to keep media coverage fair and accurate
