We help promote an intersectional narrative about women and family/relationship issues that is rooted in dignity and justice.
Reproductive justice is a social change model that recognizes the connection between women’s reproductive health and the conditions in their lives that are shaped by socioeconomic status, human rights, race or ethnicity, sexuality, and nationality. According to Camino PR client NLIRH, “this framework affirms that rights are universal, transcends national borders and includes all aspects of the economic and social spheres.”
The reproductive justice model promotes a new public dialogue that is predicated on the following important communications priorities: shifting the reproductive issues framework from an individual-rights viewpoint to a social-justice/civil-rights viewpoint; challenging norms that are deeply imbedded in the public health/prevention model: and reducing (or eliminating) the use of social stigma as a motivator to control sexual decisions.
