One of our major contributions is translating academic and professional concepts such as these into conversations that are accessible to a wider public. For example, we have engaged in an even deeper public understanding about sex, gender, and social construct through the promotion of dynamic systems theory. Leading biologist Dr. Anne Fausto-Sterling explains, " I believe that both sex and gender are in part social constructs. But they take place in the body, and so are simultaneously biological. Dynamic systems theories link the social—which impinges on the developing body—to the body itself. Cultural experience has physiological effects".
We have a deep commitment to eradicating homophobia, and we work to amplify the voices and experiences of those who are impacted by this oppression, from bullying victims to immigrant families. From promoting academic research to helping India's first LGBTQ online bookstore launch, we are grateful to have a role in changing society in favor of equal rights for LGBTQ persons.
